Arts Network Ottawa identified a gap in support for young emerging artists and art administrators in Ottawa. Due to this gap in support, Arts Network Ottawa initiated the development of the Young Arts Leaders Collective. Arts Network Ottawa’s mission is to connect, champion and collaborate to bring resources together to build a thriving Ottawa arts community.
Young Arts Leaders Collective’s (YALC) mission is to provide professional services to young, emerging artists and arts administrators in Ottawa. In the initial stages this will include a mentorship program, networking opportunities, the dissemination of information, and communication to connect young, emerging artists and arts administrators in Ottawa with each other and with other artists, to help contribute to building a thriving Ottawa arts community.
YALC will disseminate information, including providing information and advice for professional development through blog posts, newsletters, and social media platforms.
YALC will also disseminate information about job opportunities, grant opportunities, calls for submissions, art events, and other opportunities for young, emerging artists and arts administrators in Ottawa.
