PROGRAM ASSISTANT INTERN (JOB ID: ANO-2020HR1)
Potential start date: June 22, 2020
Contract: Full-time, 16-week contract
Hours: 5 days per week, 37.5 hours per week

The bilingual Program Assistant Intern will be supervised by the Program Manager and will help to organize a variety of activities for the Ottawa arts community including professional development sessions, workshops, virtual art exhibitions, and other artistic opportunities in both official languages.
The Program Assistant Intern will be heavily involved in our professional development programs for artists including monitoring and assisting with mentor reporting in our Ottawa Arts Mentorship Program, assisting with Neighbourhood Arts Ottawa and CPAMO programming (Cultural Pluralism in the Arts Movement Ontario – in Ottawa). Some additional projects include assisting with the Exhibition Space at Arts Network Ottawa and supporting virtual Meet-the-Artist vernissages and learning events.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Presently, Arts Network Ottawa’s programming is focused on web-based exchanges and online programming. The Program Assistant Intern’s tasks will include, but would not be limited to: researching and identifying professional development workshop opportunities that would be of interest to our membership and local artists; sourcing potential speakers, workshop facilitators, and vendors for our Artpreneur Conference taking place online in the Fall 2020; supporting events, workshops, webinars, and roundtables planned for our community development programs through Neighbourhood Arts Ottawa, Young Arts Leaders Collective and capacity-building workshops for immigrant and refugee artists through CPAMO Ottawa.
The Program Assistant Intern will support the administration of the programming staff while the organization pivots programming to web-based exchanges online. The Program Assistant Intern will work with local BIAs and small business partners for community co-creation, collaboration and partnership opportunities. Other tasks the Program Assistant Intern may be assigned include creating website content, creating email campaigns through MailChimp, working with Asana, Excel spreadsheets or Word documents in planning and organizing for our programming activities. There will be opportunities for the participant to select projects that align with their interests and professional trajectory. The Intern would become a member of the Young Arts Leaders Collective.
