For more than 31 years, Arts Network Ottawa has worked with Ottawa’s arts community to build a vibrant and sustainable sector. Subject to funding confirmation, two opportunities are available for bilingual youth to help with planning and implementing upcoming and new initiatives.

These positions are being advertised in anticipation of funding under the Canada Summer Jobs Initiative. To be eligible, you must be between 15 and 30 years of age on the start date of the job. Membership and Community Relations Assistant Intern
Potential start date: May 6, 2019
Contract: Full-time, 16-week contract, summer position
Hours: 5 days per week, 37.5 hours per week
Field of Study: Arts Management, Event Management, Fundraising, Business, Visual Arts, Theatre, Music
The Membership and Community Relations Assistant will be supervised by the Manager, Marketing and Development and will help to organize a variety of activities for Arts Network Ottawa members and donors including information sessions, networking events, fundraising campaign, data entry and member resources in both official languages.Must meet all Canada Summer Jobs criteria.

Arts Network Ottawa promotes and develops the arts through a variety of programs, many of which the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on. It will provide good knowledge and experience on real-life applications on their studies such as revenue generation, fundraising, sponsor development, project management, event planning, program development and data/relationship management.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Membership and Community Relations Assistant will be supervised by the Manager, Marketing and Development and will help to organize a variety of activities services for Arts Network Ottawa members including information sessions, networking events, data entry and member resources in both official languages. The assistant will also help in development by assisting in fundraising campaigns and events and maintaining donor records. The assistant will also have opportunity to work on new artistic initiatives for arts and culture such as preparations for new initiatives and develop content for the web.
Tasks will include, but would not be limited to, research and development of membership benefits and potential new programming areas for members based on the 2019 membership survey; updating databases and relevant data entry; assisting with monthly membership programming; fundraising and other event logistics; supporting the major donor program by preparing sponsorship and proposal packages, soliciting silent auction donations and keeping files and records up to date; as well as ensuring members, sponsors and donors are well informed of upcoming events.
This position would work directly with supporters, donors and sponsors of the organization and would require excellent communication and soft skills.
