As we prepare for a return to live theatre, GCTC is growing its team. We’re looking for candidates to fill a new position at our theatre company: Marketing and Development Coordinator.

Hours & Schedule

The Marketing and Development Coordinator is a part-time, seasonal, entry level position with an anticipated 20-25 hours per week between the months of September and June. The position has a flexible schedule based on the needs of the position.


The Marketing and Development Coordinator position is compensated at a rate of $20.00 (twenty dollars) per hour.

About the position

The Marketing and Development Coordinator will support the work of the Development & Membership Manager and the Marketing & Communications Manager, assisting in and carrying out communications and fundraising tasks. The Coordinator will work closely with GCTC’s other Coordinator positions, especially the Education and Access Coordinators.

The work for this position takes place both off and on-site at GCTC, with a flexible schedule based on the availability and needs of the coordinator, as well as their daily tasks. Due to COVID-19, the position is currently remote. As we transition to reopening, we will continue to follow regional health guidelines and work with individuals to balance remote and on-site work based on the best advice of health authorities, as well as the requirements of the work. Occasionally, the Coordinator will be required to be present for events at GCTC.

Marketing and Development Coordinator Duties

  • Social media management and content creation

  • Newsletter content development and writing

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with community partners

  • Annual gala coordination

  • Aiding in marketing and development tasks as needed

Much of the Marketing and Development Coordinator’s job will involve representing the theatre across social media, engaging with GCTC’s audiences and promoting the theatre’s events in advance and as they happen. Adhering to a social media calendar, and under the supervision of both the Marketing & Communications and the Development & Membership Managers, the Marketing and Development  Coordinator will assist in conceptualizing and creating social media posts for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Tik Tok based on the marketing and development goals of the theatre. Experience with major social media platforms is considered an asset, as is good written communication skills in English.

The Coordinator will aid in the creation of our semi-weekly newsletter, collecting community stories and writing content promoting upcoming and ongoing GCTC events. The Coordinator will be trained in the use of Dot Digital, GCTC’s mass emailer.

From March to May, the Coordinator’s time will shift to supporting the development of the annual Lawyer Play Gala fundraiser. This will involve reaching out to prospective sponsors and partners and assisting the rest of the team in daily tasks.
