MEMBERSHIP ASSISTANT INTERN (JOB ID: ANO-2020HR3)
Potential start date: June 22, 2020
Contract: Full-time, 16-week contract
Hours: 5 days per week, 37.5 hours per week

The bilingual Membership Assistant Intern will be supervised by the Program Manager and will also work closely with the Manager, Marketing and Development as well as the Administrative Assistant by assisting with a variety of functions in support of the membership and administrative functions of the organization in both official languages. (Note: Should a candidate from library and/or archival services be hired, the Membership Assistant Intern will also participate in a network reorganization proposal for our shared computer network files.)
Duties would include assisting with the transfer of electronic files to a new CRM after purchase; input and updating of data; preparation of membership correspondence and mailings; updating and management of the filing and archiving systems; outsourcing new benefits for our affinity program; assisting with monthly membership programming; and event logistics. This position would work directly with members, funders, supporters, donors and sponsors of the organization and would require excellent communication and soft skills.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Membership Assistant Intern will support the administration of programming while the organization pivots programming to web-based exchanges online. The Membership Assistant Intern may provide support in the administration of donor and sponsorship stewardship by: assisting with fulfillment of member benefits as required; preparing and distributing letters and monthly member renewal reminders; maintaining the MailChimp member lists; assisting with the preparation and submission of content for our biweekly eNews and ArtNews electronic newsletters; assist with member recruitment and outreach.
Other tasks the Membership Assistant Intern may be assigned include creating content for the website, creating email campaigns through MailChimp, and working with Asana, Excel spreadsheets or Word documents in planning and organizing for our member activities. There will be opportunities for the participant to select projects that align with their interests and professional trajectory. The participant would become a member of the Young Arts Leaders Collective.
