Neighbourhood Arts Ottawa’s next gathering is a family-friendly, open-air event this fall where 20+ local artists will set-up to paint in a live, outdoor setting at Minto Park on Elgin Street. The community is welcome to walk through and interact with the artists as they work on their pieces, showing the public a glimpse into the production process, while offering an alternative creative space for artists to step out of their studios and engage with each other and with the wider community.
Studies show that community-engaged art projects and events are an effective way to create ties between artists and their communities, create meaningful dialogue around the artistic process and raise awareness about various community issues. Neighbourhood Arts Ottawa proposes a series of community-engaged gatherings, to promote community arts practices and to help foster a network of community-engaged artists and supporters.
- ARTIST REGISTRATION IS COMPLETE!
- There will be no commercial exchanges during the event as the emphasis is on community.
This event is presented in part by Neighbourhood Arts Ottawa, a program is made possible through the generous financial support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, and the Ottawa Community Foundation. This event is made possible by the generous support of Studio Art Plus.
