MARKETING ASSISTANT INTERN (JOB ID: ANO-2020HR2)

Potential start date: June 22, 2020
Contract: Full-time, 16-week contract
Hours: 5 days per week, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: $15.50/hour

The bilingual Marketing Assistant Intern will be supervised by the Manager, Marketing and Development to develop and implement graphic design, social media and marketing tasks in both official languages.

Some projects include preparing creative briefs and designing marketing material for several Arts Network Ottawa activities, including but not limited to the Exhibition Space at Arts Network Ottawa, Ottawa Arts Mentorship Program, Neighbourhood Arts, Artpreneur Conference, Young Arts Leaders Collective activities including events and workshops, CPAMO Ottawa activities, and the Articipate Project Grants. Additionally, the Intern will prepare sponsorship and proposal packages as needed, as well as ensuring members, sponsors and donors are well informed of upcoming events.

In addition to tasks related to graphic design, the Marketing Assistant Intern will support the above-mentioned programs and activities by producing relevant marketing action plans to include compelling website and social media content under the direction of the Manager, Marketing and Development.

Specific studies within Graphic Design, Marketing or Communications are required – any candidate selected for an interview will be expected to present a portfolio.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Marketing Assistant Intern will support the administration of programming while the organization pivots programming to web-based exchanges online. A large proportion of the participant’s tasks will be to produce materials relating to the organization’s programming and corporate needs. The Marketing Assistant Intern may assist in other communications and marketing related tasks, such as creating social media content, making regular changes and updates to our website, producing email campaigns through MailChimp, designing information e-flyers and e-brochures about Arts Network Ottawa, materials and promotion relating to our Annual General Meeting and other related tasks as the workplan requires.

Other tasks the Marketing Assistant Intern may be assigned include working with Asana, Excel spreadsheets or Word documents in planning and organizing for our programming activities. There will be opportunities for the participant to select projects that align with their interests and professional trajectory. The participant would become a member of the Young Arts Leaders Collective.
